SiGMA Foundation Donates 3,500 Wheelchairs to PAGCOR for Communities Affected by Habagat

 


PASAY CITY — September 16, 2026 — In a significant humanitarian initiative, the SiGMA Foundation turned over 3,500 wheelchairs to the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) to help Filipinos with mobility needs in communities affected by the southwest monsoon or habagat.


The ceremonial turnover was held at the PAGCOR Corporate Office in Pasay City, with SiGMA Asia Managing Director Neil Shih leading the donation and PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Alejandro H. Tengco formally receiving the mobility aids.

The wheelchairs will be distributed through PAGCOR's relief assistance program to residents in towns and provinces impacted by the habagat, providing much-needed mobility support to individuals and families facing difficult circumstances.

For the SiGMA Foundation, the initiative forms part of its broader humanitarian and social-impact efforts in the Philippines. The foundation has highlighted its partnership with PAGCOR in delivering 3,500 wheelchairs nationwide, with the goal of supporting accessibility, independence and improved quality of life for beneficiaries.



The donation also underscores how partnerships between the private sector and government institutions can extend assistance to communities beyond traditional relief goods—bringing practical mobility support directly to people who need it.

One wheelchair can mean more than mobility—it can mean greater independence, dignity and a renewed sense of possibility.
