APPC 2026: Reshaping Institutions, Investing in People

 


MANILA — Policymakers, researchers, business leaders and development practitioners gathered for the 12th Annual Public Policy Conference (APPC 2026), focusing on how stronger economic institutions and transformational partnerships can help develop the Philippines’ most important resource—its people.


Organized by the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS), the conference carried the theme “Reshaping Economic Institutions for Transformational Partnerships in Human Capital Development,” highlighting the importance of institutions, collaboration and investment in human capital.
Discussions centered on how government, the private sector, academe and other stakeholders can work together to improve opportunities for Filipinos and strengthen the foundations for inclusive and sustainable economic development.
The conference also emphasized the role of evidence-based public policy in translating research and ideas into programs that can produce better outcomes for communities.
